What Types of Auto Glass can be Repaired

What Types of Auto Glass can be RepairedA broken window on your vehicle can be quite problemsome. First of all, it prevents you from being able to keep the weather out of your car. Second, should a crack or chip be in your field of vision, it can prove distracting and cause dangerous driving conditions. Third, a broken out window could be an open invitation to thieves. If any window on your car has been broken don't hesitate to get it repaired. Here are a few of the most common types of auto glass repair.

Windshield repair

The windshield is subject to all sorts of damage, particularly because rocks and other objects can be kicked up by the tires of a vehicle in front of it. In some cases small chips and cracks can be repaired, preventing the need for a full windshield replacement.

Back window repair

The back window of any vehicle is much less likely to break than others, but it does happen, generally during a rear end accident.

Door glass repair

For thieves, door glass is often the easiest to break in order to get into a car. If you find that door glass has been shattered be sure to check your belongings to see if anything is missing. If necessary, contact the police.

Quarter glass repair

Quarter glass refers to glass that is near the rear of a vehicle but not located within a door. This too can be replaced using OEM replacement glass.

Truck sliding glass repair

If a person locks their keys in a truck they often try and break in through the sliding glass door that many trucks feature. Bad idea, should the glass break it is usually more spendy to replace than door glass.

Wing window repair

Not many, if any, new vehicles have wing windows these days, but if you drive an older car that does feature a wing window that has broken a professional auto glass shop will be able to fix it.

Sunroof repair

Sunroof, moonroof, whatever you prefer to call it, a broken one can be disastrous as rain water will be sure to get in your car. Contact an auto body shop that can get a new one installed ASAP!
