What are common types of auto body damage

Everytime you hit the road you are at risk of acquiring some form of auto body damage. It can happen without notice or even when you're not in your car. There are many types of damage that can occur, it all depends on a few factors, such as speed of impact, size of the colliding object and so on and so forth. If your vehicle is involved in some form of an accident don't hesitate to reach out to a local auto body repair shop to have the issue fixed.

Dings and dents

Dings and dents can occur from impacts with just about anything. While the bodies of our vehicles are pretty durable, they're not invincible. If the dent did not do any damage to the paint job of the car than there is a good chance that it can be repaired using what is known as paintless dent repair. PDR lets a technician smooth out the body without the need to repaint the car, saving the owner both time and money.

Scrapes and scratches

Like dings and dents scratches can occur when even minor contact is made between your car and just about anything else. Depending on the depth of the scratch it may be able to be buffed out. However deeper scratches will likely require that the area be completed repainted using color match painting techniques.

Cracked body

Harsher impacts may result in panels of your vehicle actually cracking. This could happen to wheel wells, the grille, fenders, bumpers and elsewhere. In order to restore the looks of the car it may be easiest to simply replaced the damaged panel.

Bent frame

In approximately 50 percent of all collisions a vehicle's frame is damaged. It is important that the frame is restored to factory specifications in order to ensure that the vehicle remains safe to drive.
